El Portal Dance Party, FUNKY BROADWAY!
We have missed all of you so much since our last live performance on March 7, 2020 – it’s been over a year! So we made this stream to give you a little taste of what it feels like to be back at El Portal for live entertainment.
What is it? It’s a live concert from the El Portal Debbie Reynolds MainStage featuring 5 amazing musicians and led by Geno Henderson. You will hear music from the origins of rock ‘n roll by Chuck Berry, Ike and Tina Turner, and BB King through the birth of Los Angeles FUNK with Sly Stone and Billy Preston. You also get to hear great stories from Geno about the 1960’s – 1970’s Crenshaw music scene, being in a band with Ike and Tina’s son, the first time he met Billy Preston, and how he became involved in stage musicals like Baby It’s You and Heartbreak Hotel.
The Pandemic All Star Band members have played and recorded with the likes of Prince, Bruce Hornsby, Dionne Warwick, Donny Osmond, the Gap Band, The Pointer Sisters, Lou Rawls, Dr. Dre, Chaka Kahn, Cyndi Lauper, George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars, Ben E King, Bo Diddley, Lee Ritenour, the American Idol band, and even the national tour of High School Musical.

With a starting package of 3 cameras, El Portal is proud to partner with Meridian Productions to assist you in streaming or videotaping your event. This way everybody gets the opportunity to see your production whether they are here in town or not. Friends and family everywhere can now see your show onstage from their own home or wherever they stream entertainment and on whatever device they choose!
Basic packages start with the El Portal lighting and sound staff with the addition of 3 cameras and live switching. Larger productions may want to increase the number of cameras and cameramen, and premium events may want to add the amazing 30-foot wide LED screen as an onstage backdrop for dramatic and exciting visuals! Imagine a giant, jumbo-tron sized image or video to accompany your show!
And if you want to stream your event world-wide, El Portal has the bandwidth and platform to stream and sell your show with a dedicated paywall.
