The new and improved Monroe Forum remains one of NoHo's finest small venues. Named for Marilyn Monroe, who attended 6th grade at Lankershim Elementary School just behind the theatre, the performance space has seen a wide variety of productions. The Monroe Lobby features original movie posters and vintage photographs of Hollywood's greatest icon, Marilyn Monroe, from the collection of theatre owner Gary Goodgame.
The theatre now has a fixed lighting plot and sound system ideal for stand up comedy, intimate musical performances, and even book signings and play readings. There are 74 fixed theatre seats with ample room for up to 25-30 more people in seats on the venue floor. The theatre now features cocktail table seating and premium seats with beverage trays for more fun!
Top hits in the space include a 19-month run of The Marvelous Wonderettes, Rip Taylor's "It Ain't All Confetti," "12 Angry Women" (one of the first all-female adaptations of the teleplay by Reginald Rose), "A Conversation With Edith Head," "Walk Like A Man," and even "Sweeny Todd." The new, more luxurious space befitting it's namesake will make for an intimate, hilarious, groovy, experience for your night out!
