“Mack & Mabel”-In Concert is a rare, fully staged and choreographed presentation of legendary Broadway composer Jerry Herman’s favorite score starring motion picture star Dermot Mulroney, Broadway Aussie star Caroline O'Connor, and introducing Jenna Rosen as Mabel.
A rollicking and rowdy romantic musical comedy based loosely on the star-crossed love affair of silent film director Mack Sennett and screen star Mabel Normand, “Mack & Mabel” originally starred Robert Preston, Bernadette Peters and Lisa Kirk. This All Roads Theatre presentation features extravagant choreography, the wild and acrobatic high-jinks of the Keystone Cops, the gorgeous Mack Sennett “Bathing Beauties” and a dazzling Tap Dancing finale. Although the original show had a limited run on Broadway it has gone on to world wide cult status and now regarded as one of Broadway’s greatest “forgotten” musicals.
Presented at the intimate El Portal with an Orchestra of 18 and a cast of 40 - for FOUR PERFORMANCES ONLY - this production is a "must-see" show of the year here in Los Angeles!
